I want to give an honest clinical review of Scansliv's iTero-compatible scan tips, because they deserve it, and so does George.
Like most orthodontic practices, we go through scan sleeves constantly. Align's proprietary tips work fine, but the cost at volume is real, and the idea of a compatible alternative always seemed like a risk not worth taking. After using the Scansliv tips across multiple patients and scan types, including full arches for aligner case starts, here's my honest take: the fit on our iTero is solid, no slippage or looseness that would compromise image quality, and our scans have been clean and consistent. Nothing in our workflow changed negatively.
The price difference compared to Align's sleeves is significant enough to matter at any real scan volume, and I haven't noticed any performance tradeoff that would justify paying more for the brand-name option.
